Areas of Practice

  • Review all monthly bills for accuracy and pay as agreed.

  • Review and evaluate medical bills, EOBs and health insurance coverage; pay bills as appropriate and track reimbursements. 

  • Ensure that periodic bills are current (e.g., income and property taxes, home and auto insurance, auto registrations, life insurance and long term care insurance).

  • Review cash flow and budget, including gifts and discretionary spending.

  • Assist with day-to-day banking and monthly account reconciliation.

  • Implement a records organization and filing/shredding system.

  • Manage & reduce junk mail; add to no-marketing and do-not-call lists.


 
  • Review deposit accounts, investment accounts, credit card and loan accounts; identify options to eliminate fees, reduce interest rates and increase returns.

  • Ensure that all appropriate property tax exemptions are in place.

  • Obtain bids for home, auto and health insurance; evaluate pricing and coverages.

  • Review credit card rewards and online-only accounts (eBay, Paypal, etc.)

  • Search state-specific databases for unclaimed property and assist with claims process.


 
  • Obtain Social Security report and annual credit report; review for accuracy. 

  • Assist with 

  • Ensure all personal identification documents are securely stored or shredded.. 

  • Implement credit freeze if desired.


 
  • Schedule home inspection: fire alarms, fire extinguishers, CO2 detectors, radon, water test, air quality, water heater/softener, furnace & AC.

  • Provide referrals to licensed, bonded & insured service providers for home repairs and improvements, in-home care, pet care, etc.

  • Schedule in-home safety review as appropriate (grab bars, fall alert systems, visual aids, medication reminder systems, etc.).

  • Review security and/or safety alert systems; implement as appropriate.


 
  • Organize and deliver annual tax information to preparer.

  • Work with tax preparer to identify potential tax efficiencies; assist with implementation as appropriate.

  • Confirm location and titling of all assets; document beneficiary designations on retirement plans, life insurance, etc.

  • Assist with implementation of appropriate changes as recommended by attorney.

  • Notify tax professional of changes that may impact tax planning.

  • Discuss and document funeral and burial plan; refer to pre-planning professional as desired by client.
